Operation Rules and Regulations

Training

  1. All members must pass through a Flying Training Center unless otherwise determined by the Group. Upon completing training, members will be assigned to an active Squadron within the Iranian Special Operation Group based on their chosen stream.
  2. Iranian Special Operation Group reserves the right to transfer and reassign any aircrew to a new unit during their career.
  3. Members may request a transfer of Squadron pending Operational Conversion or additional Flying Training. Decisions regarding the length of training will be at the discretion of the receiving Squadron Commander.
  4. Transfers between squadrons are only permitted once members have completed their stream’s training programme.
  5. While undergoing training at a Flying Training Center, members are not permitted to operate beyond the scope of their instruction. Their Qualified Flying Instructor will advise them on the extent of their authority, which is categorized as follows:
    • Solo Circuits: Flying a circuit pattern within 6nm of the current Aerodrome.
    • Local Area: Operating within 100nm of the current Aerodrome outside controlled airspace, adhering to Visual Flight Rules.
    • Navigation Exercise: Flying a prescribed route using VORs, NDBs, and TACANs, remaining clear of controlled airspace, and under the supervision of their Flight Commander or Squadron Commander.
  6. Members undergoing training at Flying Training Center are not permitted to operate outside of Iran.

Operations

  1. Members must adhere to all VATSIM or POSCON rules and regulations, particularly those related to special operations. All non-training sorties must be conducted on the VATSIM or POSCON network.
  2. Members are prohibited from simulating any operation on the VATSIM or POSCON network that mirrors real-world operations or conflicts, past or present, which have resulted in political, social, or religious unrest.
  3. For the sake of the organization, weapons must not be visibly loaded onto aircraft operated on the VATSIM or POSCON network. This includes videos, screenshots, or reports posted on any communications platform containing the vatsim.net or poscon.net domain.
  4. When operating on the VATSIM or POSCON network, members are required to file an appropriate flight plan using the relevant software. In Section Remark, all crews must enter ‘OPR/ IRSOG’.
  5. Cockpit sharing is allowed, provided both pilots are qualified to operate the aircraft type. Both the captain and the co-pilot may log hours. If connected to VATSIM or POSCON, the captain assumes full responsibility for the aircraft’s actions.
  6. When operating on VATSIM or POSCON, it is in the pilot’s best interest to contact relevant and local controllers to avoid potential conflicts or collisions.

Inactivity

  1. All members, except those on leave, are required to fly a minimum of 2 sorties each week totaling 60 minutes to maintain an active status.
  2. Failure to maintain an active status more than twice will result in the issue being referred to the Head of the Group.
  3. Notification of Leave will be made to Personnel Support via the Leave of Absence area within the Pilot Centre. Members should verbally inform their Squadron Coordinator of their absence via Discord or email.
  4. An acceptable leave of absence period is up to and including 4 weeks per Year.
